He tried to be what his parents wanted but it never felt right, not for as long as he can remember. He was interested in boys, but not the way he "should" have been. He moved out at 16, with his parents' encouragement, and in with a handful of older friends. He stayed in school, but was able to explore more freely. He started gender reassignment therapy at 18, after graduation. He also began living completely as a transman. He started HRT at 21, and had his chest reconstruction three years ago. He moved to Boulder 18 months ago, works in a local bank, and investigated the scene almost immediately upon arriving. He was involved at home and wanted to find a community again. He was invited and joined about a year ago, but he has not been a truly regular participant. He's made a vow to himself to change that. He has not had sex reassignment therapy yet.
